Some Pointers For A Successful Postcard Marketing

By: Andrew Michaels

If you are planning to use postcard printing for your marketing efforts, remember to research first before you start putting ink to paper or clicking the mouse to the program. Designing effective print postcards is a challenging strategy that you have to be equipped with the right information before you can make a success of your postcard marketing.

Here are some pointers you need to consider to successfully market with print postcards.

First of all, the get the right mailing list for your postcard printing. This means having the right list of prospects who you know would be interested in what you have to offer. (Who do you plan to send your postcards to? Who are most likely to be interested in your content? Who would more likely respond to your offer? Who would have a need for your products and services?)

But knowing your target audience is not enough. You also need to know how best way you can reach them. Do you have the right mailing addresses? Do you have assurance that your postcards would reach them? Distributing your marketing tools to the wrong market would definitely not give you your desired results. You are just wasting your time, effort and resources marketing aggressively only to not have the response your want.

Targeting your market would also help you focus your marketing collaterals so you would be able to provide the right content to the right people. You can then identify what message to convey – one for your current and loyal clients, and another to your prospective customers. The more targeted your message, the more chances of you convincing your target audience with the right amount of information on your offer.

Next, provide a good headline. Postcard printing will be more effective if you have a strong headline to give your message in a nutshell. What should your target clients expect from your content? What can they get from your copy? The headline is the very first thing that your target clients will see in your print postcards. The first reading would determine whether you get them interested or not.

So what do you write in your headline? Try a catchy phrase or a short tagline that embodies the whole of your message. Make sure that it’s easy to memorize so your target clients would have an easier time remembering it.

Finally, spend time writing your message. Your postcard has a limited space that’s why it would take an innovative and creative mind to make your message fit. Use more call-to-action words and phrases and specify what you want your target clients to do exactly after reading your message.
